Financial Aid

Financial concerns should not be a factor in your decision whether to apply to SSP. There is no application fee.

If your family might find it difficult to pay all or part of the program fee, you should ask a parent to complete the financial aid application. Depending on your family's overall financial circumstances, including other educational expenses for you and any siblings, we may award aid up to the full program fee plus airfare. Every year more than a third of students receive financial aid.

The financial aid application instructions and form are the last two pages of the application document, and is also available as a separate download. The financial aid application may be submitted separately from the rest of the application, but the same deadlines apply.

Applying for aid has no effect on whether admission will be offered. The Admissions Committee that scores applications does not know which applicants have applied for financial aid. Financial aid decisions are made by an independent Financial Aid Committee only after we have decided to offer you admission.

Note: because of a special grant, the entire program fee is waived for residents of New Mexico who complete a financial aid application, regardless of their financial circumstances.
